You Have the Power – Tarot for the Week
The 3 cards in this reading are: The Magician (rev), the Knight of Cups, and the 2 of Pentacles.
When it is upright The Magician represents the power we have to create, to manifest our desires, and the talent we have. Reversed, it can mean a stifling of that power or of the talent within us.
The Knight of Cups is the messenger of his suit. Cups (and water) are all about emotions, feelings, spirit. Essentially our internal life.
In the 2 of Pentacles we see a man juggling two coins in a endless loop. These coins can represent our day-to-day activities as well as money.
This week’s reading is about us not letting our emotions be the only thing that guides us. We have emotions, but we are not our emotions.
If we treat everything we feel as the absolute truth, we are missing out on living a full and rich life. Opportunities can disappear if we are too wrapped up in our emotions to see them or too scared to try.
For example, let’s say you are an amazing illustrator. Your work is very well received and you are often asked to work for money. On occasion you will accept the commission, but usually you decline.
Why?
Because your emotions of fear, anxiety, and maybe a little sadness, get in the way.
Remember, instinct and intuition are not feelings. Take some time to know how they feel in your body versus emotions. For me, my intuition is a whisper in my ear and I feel a connection to the greater energy around us. Feelings of fear and anxiety usually feel tight and constricting in my chest.
There is a balance to be had. You don’t want to cut yourself off from your emotions, but you also don’t want to be a slave to them.
What are you abandoning for the sake of your emotions? You have the power to have those feelings, but not let them be the decision makers.
